What IRCC asks of everyone

These apply in every community, on top of the community’s own rules.

  1. A job offer from an employer the community has designated: full-time (at least 30 paid hours a week), year-round and with no end date, with at least 75% of the work inside the community.
  2. Pay within or above the Job Bank wage range for the occupation in that region.
  3. At least 1 year (1,560 hours) of related work experience in the past 3 years, at a skill level that matches the job (graduates of a public college or university in the community can be exempt).
  4. An approved language test less than 2 years old, meeting the minimum in all four abilities: CLB 6 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs, CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3, CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5.
  5. A Canadian high-school diploma or higher, or a foreign credential with an assessment (ECA) less than 5 years old.
  6. Proof of settlement funds, unless you already work in Canada with a valid work permit.
  7. A recommendation from the community, then a permanent residence application to IRCC.
